my $20 digital camera!

INTRO

so my digital camera died after many years of faithful(ish) service. i'm getting tired of the crapiness of my cameraphone so i browsed around and found some really cool cameras for ~$200, but then i realized i'm way too much of a cheapass for that

then i stumbled upon a community of people devoted to turning "one time use" digital cameras into fully unlocked digicams. these cameras run about $20 and can be picked up at your local CVS (there's one about a mile from where i live).

now the process takes a bit of technical prowess as well as a little bit of custom hardware, and consists of 2 steps:

1) getting it connected and 2) modifying the firmware to allow you to use it like a regular camera
